After the first agricultural areas were built, there are a number of different eras all wrapped into one now. You see two beautiful homes near Lake Merritt that were at the beginning in the 1880s to 1890s, with wealthy people living in those large houses. They are the oldest of Victorian homes, but they are incredibly improved and well maintained.
