In Area 2, many of the areas were built before 1877. There is a 33-acre tract building from the water edge to the top of Lake Merritt. There is an adjacent area located from Lake Merritt on Peralta and Brooklyn Street. The next area going south from Watson to Clinton was subdivided. Later Prospect to Excelsior streets were developed with much larger homes that are still there today.

By 1912, you can see these areas developed with large individual home, all the way up to 4-story apartment buildings. You can also see Park Boulevard going all the way down to the bridge that connects to Downtown.

By 1938, it is all built out, with some green space shown on the map.
